Please vote for my brother to win a gallery show in NYC! It’s his birthday and I can’t afford a great present for him, so I’m hoping to recruit votes instead :)

His photos are always fun to look at, so check them out!

Thinking of making a bunch of these (or similar insect-themed wood pieces) for Etsy.. that is, when I actually get around to making an account -.-

 Great Ape Protection Act

.
There is new momentum propelling the Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act (GAPCSA). Recently, proponents of the bill spoke at a hearing of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works subcommittee on Water and Wildlife. Physician and former vaccine researcher at GlaxoSmithKline, Dr. Martin Wasserman testified in support of the bill, saying it would “allow us to focus on new alternative research methodologies, end a cycle of wasteful and unnecessary research, save money, and protect chimpanzees who have already given so much of their lives to research in the past.” GAPCSA would effectively end invasive research on an estimated 1,000 chimpanzees currently in government-sponsored labs and prohibit such experiments on all great apes (defined as chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas, orangutans, and gibbons). If passed, it would ensure peaceful retirement for these animals. Your Senators need to hear from you! Currently, there are only 14 co-sponsors in the Senate, so more are needed. Please take a moment to let your lawmakers know you care about chimps!

Two of my degree project pieces that will be in a show in a Provincetown gallery. Stop by the McGuire gallery April 7-14th if you’re in the area!

Hmm I’m feeling rather annoyed with the human race so here’s an older piece to express said irritation/disgust! On a more serious note though, this is something I feel really strongly about and should absolutely not even EXIST in today’s society.
